Cool Project: The Dark Elite

Alright, so after years of building my 88 I sold it. Breaks my heart to see it go but I really like the late model bodys, and hate renix, plus I got a screaming deal on this. So here is the new project.

1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport
I6 4.0
195k
NP231
HP Dana 30/Chrysler 8.25 29 Spline
Power Everything (unfortunately)

Goodies the PO didnt seem to know about:
Front Tow Hooks
3 inch RC lift
Some kind of after-market TC Skid (maybe rustys 1st gen)
Metal Aftermarket Gastank skid (maybe tomken?)
TC Drop (Not too fond of)
Brand new 30x9.5x15 BFG A/T
Nice Hitch and wiring.

The bad:
clunking in the cat converter
dented hatch
a/c blows warm
gas gauge decides it wants to work whenever

Here it is the day I got it.

In the first couple of days I decided to put new plugs and wires in it, as well as change the oil and put in a high capacity filter. It still takes a couple cranks to turn over so I think im gonna have to look into injectors.

Decided to keep my safari rack from my 88 and mounted it to the stock cross bars on the 98. The stock bars can hold 150 lbs (says the owners manual), plus there are cross bars on the safari rack which will increase the weight it can hold. Dont plan on putting much up there but a spare for now.

So today was the big day. Ordered all my new lift parts and picked up the stuff I could locally at Ringgold Offroad. Big thanks to the guys at ringgold and a big thanks to SeriousOffroad products, specifically frank from this forum. Here is what I got:
RE 4.5" Coils
RE Chromoly Trac Bar
RE SuperFlex ADJ LCA's
Rustys Full 4.5 Leaf Packs
6* Shims
*No Shocks Yet, Still looking for a used set*
So total (without shocks) im only in less than 700 bucks, for a complete suspension system.

Default Lift Progress: REAR

Got about an hour to work on the jeep while the baby was sleeping. Im starting a new job next week so I decided to just quit my last job and take some "David Time" which will include installing this lift, and spending some time with my 2 month old. Within an hour I got a LOT done on the rear. Managed to get the tires off, lower shock mounts off, and all leaf spring bolts out, u-bolts are all loosened up. I had to cut the bolts going through the shackle cause of my gas tank skid..but ill just replace with grade 8. Here are some pictures of the progress..plus one of that little crying turd (she is cute though!)
