Default Powertrax issue -- Help please.

I have a powertrax no-slip in my c8.25 that decided to go t**s up right here

My drivers side is getting 100% power, pass side is getting 0%. Locker is only a few months old and had been working great until this point, XJ is bone stock 4.0L with 3.55's and 32" tires

Has this happened to anyone before? Any ideas before I tear it apart? Thanks.

What about putting in reverse? Is it locking in reverse? Tearing apart may not be a bad idea though. Who put it in?

As cf1k1 said, does it act this way in reverse as well? If so one of the main springs between the sprag wheels might be weak or sticking. Might be best to take it apart and clean it.

I installed it brand new a few months ago. I heard a litttle hubbub that Richmond is sending out new springs to people. Idk i'll have to tear it back down and see when I get time and shop space. Acts exactly the same in reverse, peals one wheel drive, zero power to other wheel.

A good cleaning might do it some good. Good luck.

Finally had time to pop the cover. The right side driver isn't and won't (when pryed with a screwdriver) engage the right coupler (replaces side gear on AS). Any ideas? Calling Richmond in the AM.

How are the splines on that side gear or shaft?

You mean the coupler piece (AKA side gear) and axle shaft splines? They appear fine.

most likely, you have broken the active spacer... there is an ear on it and it if breaks it doesn't want to engage, and causes unusual noises...

Did you have to grind anything down to get the 2 pieces that wraps around the pin in together? Those 2 pieces that broke in yours keep hitting each other in mine and i cant get the non ring gear side into the carrier.

if it won't go in, it is not aligned properly... ask me how I know? If everything is correct it'll almost fall in place so to speak. If you force it, you'll break the stupid ear off.
