Power inverter
Nobody know of a good spot to install a power inverter that would be waterproof and well ventilated. It will be inside the xj but will be doing water crossings.

Ya I'm not going in that deep of water to put it on the ceiling lol. The power inverter is to power my corded tools and other corded stuff while overlanding

I ran a power lead from the battery thru the firewall grommet at the passenger side and all the way to the back under the trim to the little cubby in the hatch. I then ran a short ground wire to the body under the trim.
Used a set of 16' 6ga Booster cables and basically split them in half. It is the perfect length and I can just clamp onto the battery when I need it.
I use a 750W running inverter to power a 3 gallon compressor for airing up.

That being said, it hasn't been in my XJ for quite a while. But, all I have to do to hook it up is drop it in place, and screw the terminals in to the internal junction block. Have only used it a handful of times. But it was a fun project.

It does take up some space, but everything still fits. Like I said, it hasn't been in the Jeep in a while, about the only time it gets put in is when I go camping, and that's been a while. I think under the hood would be the worst place for it, to much exposure. Those pics don't show it, but It has 3 outlets (which you can see), 2 usb charging ports, and I added 2 12v sockets to the front panel. If I had to do it again, I'd do it differently, it was just a fun project using available things that otherwise would've just taken up basement space. LOL
