But you probably get "RANCHO" stickers to! LOL

Probably some VERY GOOD springs. Lifetime warrantied.

I know my front axle needs to be re centered because when I did the tie rod ends I did the backyard alignment just to get it close and the driver side wheel stuck out to around the fender flare while the passenger wheel was well behind the flare.

I may be wrong about the control arms, I'm just going off what I know about my Trans Am's torque arm style rear end. when I lowered my trans am I had to get an adjustable panhard bar to recenter the axle under the car as well as adjustable lower control arms and lower control arm relocation brackets to keep the lower control arms parallel to the road as they should be. currently the front lower control arms on my jeep are about 30 degrees off from parallel if I remember correctly.

You weren't kidding when you said they did it quick and cheap. Sounds like you got your work cut out for you.

I sure do. and to make matters worse, I just priced out everything I need to finish the ball joint installation and my total is $240 for the ball joints, wheel hubs, ujoints, and brake dust covers.

does anyone see a way to save some money in this shopping cart?

Have you measured from center of wheel hub to bottom of factory flare(if you still have the factory flare) to see what the actual lift is? Stock would be 17.5". There might be even more lift on the front than first thought. Most don't seem to worry about that front control arm angle until well above 3".

Also Rock Auto has the Rancho springs for $112 each. A lot of stock height springs I see are $89 and up so doesn't seem to be too much of a premium. A couple people here have posted about using them and give positive reviews, compared to the complaints I have seen about getting too much lift from the OME springs. I have been looking at the OME springs for a long time but worried I will end up with too much lift even with one leaf removed. There are almost no full leaf options left for anything under 3.5" now.

No I have not measure from center of hub to the bottom of the flare yet, I believe I have factory flares so I'll check that when I get home. Thanks for confirming the lower control arm info, they seem to be in very good condition so that's one less thing I have to worry about.

anyone have an opinion on ac delco balljoints?

The Crown springs seem to be one of those things that varies from Jeep to Jeep. I've seen some say they only got 1" while others claim to get more than 2". I got 2" on my Jeep.

Don't worry about it. Just hit it with the wire wheel and get some rust paint on there.

I think you and I are doing the same project, and working on the same parts at the same time. I'm doing a stock rebuild of a 1999 Cherokee. I've got the knuckle off of one side, and working on removing the other. Started pressing ball joints out.

I hit it with the wire wheel and didn't like what I saw so I ordered some used that are in better condition. and yep we are at the same exact spot lol, I'll be pressing the ball joints out tomorrow.

I put the new adjustable track bar and mount from rough country on today. pretty impressed with the rigidity of the sheared set up. putting the new mount on ended up being a P.I.T.A.

The idea crossed my mind but I figured all these things I'm doing have already been covered and documented on this forum 1000 times by now.

Maybe when I straighten the front frame rail and cut out and weld the floor pans+ rear quarter patches I'll make one, those are jobs that I feel could never be covered enough because there's always gonna be a different set of issues and tricks to deal with rot and shape the metal that could be useful. especially the floor pans in my opinion.
