ordered some offroad lights
Well I found a coupon for 25% off anything at harbor freight so Ordered some lights to help me see better because the stock ones suck. It would've cost me more to drive there from lc then the shipping was.it came out to be 32 dollars and some change and that's counting the 6.99 for shipping FedEx.I'm been reading all kinds of reviews on these lights and most have been positive. Now that they are ordered its time to figure out where to mount them at.I was thinking about mounting them on my stock roof rack then I changed my mind (which I do like the wind) and decided to mount them on my front bumper. I just need to figure out the right spacing to drill into the bumper and mount them. I was also thinking for the stock headlights that I'd go with some HIDS from DDM.The stock headlights IMO suck on the Cherokee. For something they know will be going offroad and sometimes in the dark.On my mustang I have DDM HIDS 55watt 10k highs/lows and they made all the difference in the world. I believe for the jeep tho I'm thinking I'll go with 55watt highs/lows 8k or lower. something with less blue and more white so I can see everything when I'm on a trails at night.I also had a brain fart about making my own light bar out of aluminum. Think about how easy it would be to stick a piece of aluminum in the stock roof rack clamps maybe bend the ends so it sticks up some. Drill some holes and tada.I also need a roof rack to carry things but I'm very poor so unless I find a GREAT DEAL I'll have to make my own. Plans also call for backup lights because we know how much fun it is to backup in the woods.you ask your buddy to guide you backing up because you can't see anything but unfortunately for him it's freezing cold, muddy or raining outside. If only you had a bright back up light your buddy wouldn't have to get out of the jeep.

Go with 35W HIDs. 55W is nice, but all 55w ballasts are over-driving 35w bulbs and will reduce the bulb life.
Source: experience with motorcycle HIDs and blowing bulbs with 55w DDM ballasts.
