Old ome leaf fell off
Was driving to a wedding in the poconos. Started sounding rough over bumps. Pulled off to check and this is what I found.
Salvagable? Or requires all new spring?

Wow, that is ugly. Good thing is you don't have to cut the old leaf when you replace it.
A lot of people use the Dorman replacement for stock suspension.

They are not very expensive and will give you about an inch and a half of lift back.
The job is pretty straight forward if you read up and are prepared for a couple of issues that can come up..

Hey guys, thanks a lot for all the quick replies. I was on the road when I posted this so I really appreciated how fast you guys got back to me.
I have been planning a move across the country, which is scheduled for the last week of october... and I wasn't planning on bringing this jeep. I've had it for 17 years and it's seen better days. the salt here in NYC has just destroyed the underside and even though it has year old general grabbers and a solid jasper crate engine in it, it has too many small problems for me to deal with any more, and the body is about done.
I want to sell it or junk it within the next 30-40 days.
The broken spring is part of a 15 year old Old Man Emu suspension kit I installed back in the day. It initially gave around 2" of lift, and was enough to squeeze the 31's that are on it... but it has sagged a bit over the years. It currently has 31" General Grabber AT's on it that are about a year old.
I have no place to work on it, and no time to work on it. it's out of the question... I don't even have a driveway. it is currently parked on street.
I need some advice:
Do I buy one spring pack like jhc7399 linked to and have my mechanic throw it in there to limp a month? drive it sparingly on the busted spring?
seems like it's unlikely I can sell the jeep for more than a grand with all the body rust... I really only need the jeep for the next 4 weeks to get stuff in and out of storarge and empty my apartment... other than that it is currently a headache that I wasn't expecting to have to cure.
thoughts? advice?
