Ok so I want to change out my spool... Have questions
Im a total newb when it comes to the rear... The jeep had a spool when I bought it in my Dana 44. I hate the spool because I daily drive it. It's killing my 33" iroks as well. I plan on doing some off roading but not a whole lot. Should I go back to stock or what would the best "locker" set up be? Obviously an electronic locker would be choice but they're more than I want to spend right now. Would a basic Detroit locker rid me of the infamous tire chirp 100%? Or what would you guys recommend? Thanks

Theres tons of info about lockers. use the search function.
once you pull that spool outta there, post it up in the for sell section here! there's plenty of people that would take it off your hand for a reasonable price.
Good luck

Thanks for the quick reply. I did a search on google and mostly found into for 4 runners... And although the process would be the same, I wanted to obtain some up to date, my situation exactly, information.
And shoot I'll just give this spool away. I hate it.

Is it a full spool or mini? If it's full you'll need a full case locker to replace it and have to set up the gears as well. If it's a mini you can pull it and use a lunchbox locker. They're cheap and easy to set up and you don't have to worry about the ring and pinion.

Price it out though, sometimes good used lockers come up also.
If you go to a full case you wont have to worry about any of it.
If its a mini spool just throw a lunchbox in there and be done.

It's a full size spool. I would like an e locker but they're so expensive lol... And I question their reliability honestly. Guess I'll keep looking. Thanks for advice !
