OBD II Shift Light /Tach Install
I dabble in a little Mud Racing and I'm getting ready to install a Baja Shifter so I can control my AW4 automatically shifting between 1st and 2nd. What I would like to know if anyone has installed an Adjustable Shift Light or Tachometer into 96-99 XJ? I've been told that it's not possible on the OBD II XJ and there seems to be little to no information on the subject. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Most XJs came with a tach, so that should be no issue. Shift light depends on how you are triggering it. You might find more performance info on the transmission by cruising some Toyota sites, it is a Yota trans.

thanks 93gc40, The ones I was looking at trigger on RPM like the ones on a tach but since I already have a tach I was just looking to get a visual to shift. The older cherokees just hook up to the coil but I was told that won't work on the 96 + XJ's. Just wondering if anyone here had done it.
