Default O2 sensor wire too short

I about three years ago I purchased a pacesetter header. When installing my o2 sensor I found the wires were too short for the new location. I am replacing the o2 sensors now, but I am wondering if extending the wires messes with its signal. Does any one have thought or suggestion. My xj is a 99.

No, if you extend the wires correctly then it won't hurt anything.

Solder the splice and use heat shrink.

I have the same headers - Love em! I also extended my wires and works perfectly... However I did not secure the wire away from the headers well enough and a sploosh of water from a trail run made the connector sit right into the 4-2 combiner... shorted out the fuse. Just make sure you secure the cables well enough!
