Default nv3550 and np241j swap speedo problems HELP!

I have a 1995 xj with nv3550 and np241j out of a 2004 TJ Rubicon. the XJ originaly had AW4 and 231j. I have it all completed other than the speed sensor issue i am running into. I have jumped the neutral safty wiring and correctly wired in the 241j VSS to the original harness. I still get no MPH on the cluster and vehicle dies when you come to a stop and runs sluggish than before swap. I have heard some talk of a Manual trans ECM?? is the ECM looking for another signal from the TCM? can I bypass and fool the ECM if possible? does it need a speed sensor interface? if i could get this solved I would be styling I just got done with the swap which also included a klune V reduction unit, a ford 9inch rear with currie axles and nodular 9+ 3rd member and 44 front with ARB out of with billet high steering. I tucked the tcase as far up into the body to notch the tunnel out alittle.

any help is awsome!!!

the original 231j that cam out had a 3wire sensor that im guessing is an internal halleffect to a mechanical gear type just like you would with a cable. well the 241j uses a direct type of halleffect thats taking a pulse directly off a spot in the output shaft I dont know if the sensor type is outputting a different pulse than the original or if it is related to a auto trans TCM wiring issue. thanks for the insight though.
