NP231 w/ SYE ?
Hello, all you Advanced Technical Advisors. If this is in the wrong section I apologize, and could you please move it. I didn't know if it should be here or the common chat section. But figured since I had a question about a NP231 & SYE that it belonged here.
Anyways on to my question. I have in my possession a NP231 out of a 89 Cherokee Leredo that had a AW4 tranny. The input shaft is a 21spline and it has what I believe is a Advanced Adapters SYE installed on it. Well a SYE of some manufacturer. I no longer need it its just taking up space in my shed. Im looking to sell it on craigslist but not sure what to ask for it? I recently saw one for sale on craigslist but it was a newer model with the 23spline input shaft. And it also already had a SYE installed on it and that guy wanted $475.00 bucks for it. My question is are they worth that much? Should I price mine near that? Or is he asking way to much? And should I price mine cheaper? I would just like to know what the value of it would be so I can sell it to make some extra cash for some new Cherokee parts id like to get. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'd say $250ish judging by the couple I have seen on my local craigslist. However, your area may be different. And I don't think this is the right section.

So if I put it on craigslist for $300-350 do you think thats pretty reasonable considering the other guy that has his posted near me wants $475?

The SYE for the NP231 case can alone be bought brand new for 159-200 for just the SYE.
The one you saw was probably a 241 T-Case and is much more expensive.
If you are selling SYE and T-case I would say around $260 for all.
If you are selling SYE, T-Case AND driveshaft prolly $300 is fair.
With that said, if your selling just the SYE, I'll buy it for $130 shipped to 32825.
Pics help so we can see what all comes with it.

i sold my 23 spline low milage case with 6 year old, high milage sye on it for 350.
only had one interested buyer however.
its only worth how much someone is willing to pay for it. but i say 300-350 is a good starting point.
will be harder to sell a 21 spline unit than a 23 as well, as not nearly as many older xjs exist anymore as they used to.

Well I'll just start out at $350 and then go from there, And if I don't get any bites on it I'll slowly drop it down to $300 and hold there for awhile and if I still don't get any hits i'll drop it even lower. There's no Rush on selling it but could use the extra cash to buy some other Cherokee parts im looking at.
