I just changed the oil after fixing a leak on the oil filter housing gasket. Leaking problem solved. Now its got a knock I never heard before. I checked the pan its clean, the oil is clean, oil level read safe... WHAT THE FFFFFFFFF? Any Ideas...

Knocking is never good...remember valves n valvetrain tick, rods n pistons knock.

Check the distributor if you have a model with one. I swore I had a knock that was getting louder and louder. It was the rotor hitting the cap from slop in the disributor. Pulled the cap and found the shaft had too much play in it. Ended up replacing the distributor. Plus you have been working in that area, mabye you bumped it a time or two when working? Hopfully its not a real bottom end knock but something else.

its not a real bad knock, when I accelerate it stops, then slowly comes back. My first YJ same 4.0 had a knock when I would come to a stop it still ran strong and took me all over.
