Default Novak SK2XC t-case cable kit

I'm thinking about installing this set-up on my '98 XJ. Anyone have any input on this that they'd like to share? I'm just curious as to how well it's holding up long-term and if you're satisfied with the product?

And I'm sure you know how that goes. It usually happens when it's least convenient. Lol!

Thanks for the feedback wrapstar. I'm not totally opposed to a set-up like that, hell anything is better than the OEM linkage, but I do favor the Novak kit at this point.

i put the novak unit on my 98 xj,i was a pia to install & adjust. it works well ,im happy w/ it ,sorta. i have the 242 tc & i could not get it to shift back far enough to engage low range w/o cutting a half round notch in the shifter bezel trim ring & also cut the same notch in the metal housing below the trim ring ? i even called novak , they had never heard of such a problem . it would not adjust to engage all positions w/o hitting somewhere. it may work better w/ a 231 case ? the boostwerks wasnt yet available when i did mine or i would have bought that instead.

Do you have the SK2X installed or the SK2XC?

The only problem with a cable shifter is if you don't use it,The cable can rust inside the sleeve and won't move.

Considering we all know how the hood latch cable can seize up if not lubed at times, this would see a lot more water and rust much more quickly.

I never thought about that fred but your right,I have seen a few cad 4x4 systems that use a cable shifter rust in place from not using them.
