No spring compressor

I'm installing my 4.5 RC lift but i cant fit the new coil springs in and i don't own a compressor.
Help!

you don't need a spring compressor, you just need to drop the axle low enough to get the coils in. disconnect the track bar, pop the tie rod end off the passenger side and stand on the axle. it will go in.

You can rent them from parts stores but the way I've put them in in the past is put the front on jack stands and pull the tires. Jack up one side high and let the other droop and it'll usually slide in. The second one is usually a bit harder but if you got a buddy get them to stand on the axle to make it droop more and pop it in. Helps to disconnect the sway bar and shocks too.

My dad and I have the Drivers side in and everything is disconnected. there is just no room even when i stand on it.

use a pry bar to help "pop" it over the coil bucket.

if you still can't get it drop the LCA. but that makes it more difficult to get everything lined back up.

We're trying a ratchet strap now. I hope it compress it enough.

just go f-ing get one, they are free to rent with a deposit. will make your life easier. they are only 15$ on ebay for a basic compressor.

X2. Plus they are dangerous to use. Can really hurt yourself or anyone standing by while a compressor is in use

^X2- granted, while putting mine on, I didn't read the directions, and I used an air gun(DO NOT DO THIS) lol. It shot out and grazed my knee. another inch and I would have been screwed seeing how far that flew.

Anyway, I am glad you got it on, but next time, if you need to use a coil spring compressor, and you buy one, get the little bit more expensive one that staps to the spring in the middle. The ones that are the cheaper and more dangerous just hook on the spring, top and bottom, and can fly off if it slides just a little bit.
