I just switched in an overhead console from a 2000 XJ with keyless entry into my 2000 XJ with keyless entry. (i also swapped the orig keyless board into the new consloe but thats not my prob)

After hooking everything up the temp, compass, trip, and mpg functions all work on the console.

However, I now have no dome lights and none of the gauges work and there is no power going to the stereo.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did you check the fuses?

I know that all three of those things are on the same circuit. I don't remember the fuse number off hand but I know it is a 20 amp at the power distribution center under the hood.

Ya check the fuses. That just happened on my buddies 99 and it was a simple fuse lol

Thanks for the replys, I will check the fuses after work. I checked the ones under the dash and all was well. I must have hit something when running the wires. Hoping it is just the fuse.

This happened to me when my underhood light shook loose, hit some parts inside the the engine bay, and shorted out one of my fuses.

Check the fuse box under your hood. Forgot which fuse it was, though it was one of the small 15 amp fuses. It will be melted or burnt on the inside.

Had a similar problem on my jeep when I first bought it. There was a wire coming down the steering column and plugged into the fuse block on the inside, it was something factory. Unplugged the wire from the fuse block and everything worked fine. Has every since and no other problems from undoing the wire
