Talking New XJ owner. What muffler sounds best?

Hey guys, I just picked up a 99 cherokee classic 4x4 with the 4.0L. So, it's time to start upgrading. One if the first things on my list is the exhaust. Eventually (after I do some motor work) I will put on a full exhaust. For now, I just want a better sound.

What muffler would you guys recommend?

Well, I was known around my neighborhood for having my header disconnected, sounds pretty mean but has it's problems, it's also free but my new exhaust is a Flowmaster Super 10 and it has a great sound to it. Search your question on Youtube and you will find tons of videos.

I agree with Jon, YouTube is perfect for this kinda research.

I'm running a glass pack and really like it.

I guess I have some kind of set up so ill throw it out there.. I have a cat with a flowmaster super 40 (I think) then dumped for now. I wouldn't recommend doing the turndown option like me, its pretty loud I'm not sure if its amplified by my lack of a headliner. I should be getting my new tailpipe on soon though.

Once again I will agree with Jon, I'm going to run mine back past the rear end, it's stupid loud when you dump it! At hwy speed it's hard to hear the radio and or the CB

Whatever muffler you decide on, always run a pipe that exits past the rear bumper. Engine exhaust contains carbon monoxide, a deadly odorless-colorless gas, by the time you realize you got a dose it will be too late.

Mine sounds impressive, it's anything but fast. I get a lot of people throwing revs at me like I'm driving a hotrod.
