Default New XJ owner...Lift Questions

I've owned 2 YJs and 2 TJs. I have a 2003 Rubicon in the driveway now and this is my first XJ. I just bought a stock 4dr 2000 Sport model last week. The tires and suspension are in need of replacing. Other than that, I'm very happy with my purchase. That being said, I'm starting the upgrade process on it and I have a few questions...
1st, I'm adding a 4.5" Rough Country lift with new leaf springs.
2nd, I'm throwing on a set of 33x12.5R15 Mickey T's.

I believe it has a Dana 35 in the rear, auto 4.0 I6...Will it need to be regeared? Will the power lag and speedo be off? Overheat issues? Just want to know what I should prepare for so I can start looking into the solutions before they become problems. I got it up overhead on a lift to inspect it and the previous owner (a 20+yr mechanic) replaced a lot of the components, new brakes, starter, gas tank, lines, etc...It was incredibly clean inside and out.

Thanks in advance...

To regear or not depends a lot on what you have now and how the jeep will be used.A chart to look at https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f59/ge...e-chart-67989/

I would consider a different lift than rough country.. Especially if you're spending that kind of dough on meats. Find a better quality lift and u won't kick yourself in the *** later

Edit: you should have the Chry 8.25 29 spline and stock gears aren't the best for the tranny. Regear 4.56 ASAP in the meantime add a tranny cooler. I've had 33s and 3.55s for months and I can't wait for my regear

2X. Check out http://zoneoffroad.com/product?ki=439&gr=-1. What MTs are you going to run? Since you have a 2000 XJ, your d30 front axle will be a low pinion which will result in a steep drive shaft angle when lifted that high, which will result in some bad vibes. There are probably other ways of dealing with this, but the only way to fix this that I can think of are either doing a T-case drop or swapping into a high pinon d30 out of a 97-99 XJ (this would be the more ideal route).

Dont forget the SYE and driveline for the rear. If you are going to be daily driving it too then a long arm will offer a more comfortable ride.

Thanks for the info everyone. I thought about it last night and decided I'm going with a smaller lift and taking the 31's off my Rubicon and putting those on the XJ. I'll put the 33's on the TJ for now. I got the 33's from someone parting out his TJ. The tires came with half tread and black wheels, were only $300 for 5. I think I'll spend a few more days rolling it around in my head before I figure out an exact plan of action. The XJ is driven 3x more than the YJ so I'm starting to think in terms of gas prices. We shall see...
