Question New speakers question?

Ok so I'm thinking about replacing my stock speakers in my 92' xj but there are so many options I'm having a tough time finding the best fit. I'm only replacing the speakers right now and not buying a sub or amp but does anyone have any suggestions for good speaker companies? Are Polk and Kenwood good companies? If anyone has replaced their speakers itd be cool if they could tell me what they got. I'm looking for something with a good clear bass and just general good quality.

I have sound streams in my jk. They work beautifully, sound amazing at every level.

In my old xj I had precision power mids. I had two of them and I had two 15" DC subs on 3k and I could hear them loud and clear with the amount of bass.

I will be replacing the speakers in my current xj which is my little trail rig/ play toy. Hope this helps.

Good ones are:
Soundstream.
Precision power.
Selinium isn't bad.
Earthquake are cheap if you want something to beat around and not have to worry bout replacing.
Never heard kicker mids. Hope this helps.

I have Polk db651's in the front doors, and db521's in the rear headliner. Work great, sound great. For any real bass you're going to need a sub, especially if you're running any kind of mud tire that generates a lot of road noise. I have a small kicker 6.5 " sub in the rear cubby on mine, and it is plenty to round out the sound and fill in the bottom end.

Rockford Power series. Aka "T" series. Punch series is more in the middle when it comes to rockford. Stay away from any reference series from any company. They are always junk. Rockford lines go R,P, T. Just like alpine goes E,S,R,X,F1. Re audio has REX, SEX, XXX series. (not a joke, they are actual series labels). just about company has atleast 3 series but can even have more like alpine for example. Lower end series run like maybe 100 or 150 bucks. The other end of the spectrum ive seen some component systems that go for $10000 a peice. Make sure when you buy speakers you want to check a few different specs so you know what to expect. Like sensitivity, ex crappy speakers usually run like 86ish db 1w/1m. Where as high end run 96+ db 1w/1m. Also frequency. Most speakers run above 16k but usually around 20k. High end put out up to 65k. Thats like listening to crappy headphones with the cheap stuff. Then high end will seem like a live concert
