i found an np231 with a sye on it out of a 94 yj. it's a 23 spline. will it work on my 95 cherokee with aw4? or is the input shafter a different length?

it will work with your cherokee, but you will need at least a 1" t-case drop, due to the fact that the t-case on the wrangler YJ is cocked a few degrees closer to the body, which will hit the under side of your jeep unless you drop your transfer case. but it will work fine. i had one on my 88 cherokee, no problems. also i think you might have to remove one of the mounting bolts, maybe

Never heard of dropping one, I put one in my old ZJ out of a TJ. What you'll need to measure is the input length. Jeep used 3 lengths in the 23 spline versions. They are fairly easy to swap if it's the wrong length.
