Default new metal cowl hood installation

We are finally going to replace our stock hood with a metal Cowl hood we have had for 4 years.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or tips or productive comments as to what to do or want to avoid before we start?

More info? Got pics of the hood and what problems you're trying to solve?

Remove bolts, remove hood

Set the new hood up there and install the bolts...

Don't drop it on your head.

as for removal and installation, its as simple as just unbolting the old and bolting up the new. use the same shims that are already on there. keep in mind you may need to add or remove some for the new hood so you may want to run to the JY and take some off a junked one or just wait to see if you need more then run out to get them. it's gonig to be a 2 person job so make sure you have someone to help you. the only other advice i can think of is after bolting the new hood on, dont just let it close. lower it down slow to make sure everythign lines up first then adjust as needed.

Not hard at all.
I changed a hood out solo in my driveway which is on a huge incline in 20mph winds. It wasnt easy..but I didnt drop the hood, didnt let it fly away and smash my window, and I managed to bolt it up and line it up all in about 30 minutes.

I put a hood on solo. Just had to use my head... literally, to help balance while I got the first bolt in.
What I still haven't been able to do, is get the hood releace cable hooked back in to the mechanism on the hood.

Got any tips for that? Lol

Might just be my fat fingers. Lol

For whatever reason I can't get the metal "drum" thingy to go in th hole. Might have just been hot and pissed off... dunno.

I kept thinking next time I'm gonna pull the damn cable off with hood though.
