New Lift
I just had a 4.5" zone lift, new wheels and tires installed on my Jeep. I have yet to get the front end aligned yet but will be tomorrow. I feel that the ride is a little bumpy especially at slow speeds. Will this go away once i get the front end aligned or once the spring and coils settle in?
thanks
thanks

Most likely no. An alignment is just a quick adjustment of the toe in/out with your tires. Many shops don't bother adjusting caster. The ride may settle down once the springs settle during daily driving. But it won't soften up much, at least my 3" lift didn't. If you have an add a leaf in the rear springs that also accounts for a rough ride. Shocks are a factor to. And also the control arm angle starts to get steep with 4.5" + of lift so when bumps are hit the axle wants to push the lower control arm up into the body instead of back and forth. Basically all I'm trying to say is you've now experienced the ride of a lifted xj. Hope this helped.

4.5" on short arms is gonna be bumpy. My coils and full packs have settled plus I have Bilsteins and its still rides like crap. The control arm angles are too steep to give a "smooth" ride. Look at your shackle angle as well. If its vertical or close to it, that will make it very bumpy. I used to have skyjacker shocks, straight lowers with heims on both ends and a vertical shackle. **** rode like a lumber wagon, but it is a lifted jeep, not a Cadillac

If you got the shocks with the kit normally they Are the cheapest shocks out there. Mine are from rough country. And they are almost dead so and I put the lift on about a year ago so you may have just gotten the crapy shocks

Thanks guys for the input. After posting this I was searching and saw that taking out some air in the tires could help as well. Is this the case?
