Default New Coil Issue

I just installed my new (new to me) coils yesterday,i have the spring sitting as it should, in the indentation (spring rest), but the coils are so tight, i cant get my spring retaining clip on there. Any ide'ers?? Ill try and get a pic up tomorrow.

My rustys coils have a larger diameter so the retainer doesn't fit on as snug... but are you saying the coils are too compressed together to fit in the retainer? thats weird, what coils are they?

my Rough Country coils did that

I had to install the coils then drop the axle as far as I could, then I bevel the coil retainer a little bit, then I had to pry the coil to make it fit... lol it was a bear

Not sure what brand they are, they're roughly 4.5 coils, got leaf packs,coils, spacers (1inch), and ext shackles for 85 bucks from the jy. The passenger side is ok, but the drivers side is the Fer thats fightn me!! Ill have a pic this eve.

mine was that way too... the passenger side was easy, the drivers side was a bear... did you do the passenger side first? I did... who knows
