Need Track Bar modification help
I have a Rocky Road track bar made for the 3-6 inch lift on my 2000 XJ.
I also added a Drop Pitman arm for the same lift heights. I figured this would stop any steering problems I'd have when I put the 4.5 " lift springs and drop bracket kit.
And for the most part it did work. No Death Wobble but I do have a small bit of Bump Steer.
The guys from Staang's Fab in Burlington were kind enough to tell me why I might have that. They suggested putting the original Pitman arm back on or a Track bar drop bracket.
Well original went in the scrap pile. Soooooo I now have to get a drop bracket. No biggy.
If I'm going to put a drop bracket on then I'm also going to put a double shear end on it too.
Now for the question.
Has anyone else modified their track bar by putting a johnny joint or something similar on their adjustable track bar?
According to Rocky Road it takes a standard ES140R tie rod end.
I believe it's 11/16" but not sure of the thread pitch.
Anyone?

It is a logical progression anyways just trying to do it with what I have instead of buying a whole new track bar.

All the rod ends/joints I've ever used were 3/4, 7/8 and 1.25. You'll be pretty hard pressed to find one in 11/16. That's pretty much a tie rod end size. You may be able to drill it and tap it to a larger size but I'm not familiar with that bar so who knows.
