i used a set of JK sway bar disconnects,
They're was 2" to long for my 3" lift so i cut and welded back together.
How you bend the mounts dunno, since thats the strongest point on the front end.
Heck thats where i use to tie off to when needed help getting out...

What happens when you break motor mount bolts off and your engine lays over.
That FJ pulled me 8 miles, and 3 of that was out of the woods.
All from the swaybar mount. Remember the swaybar mount is sandwished with 1/4" steel blind nutted, if you rip one out bet it was loose.

I put these on because of D side tie rod flip.
Raises the mounting hole an inch or a little more. Then you have to cut the old ones off. Shouldn't affect sway bar end links too much.
Dare you to bend one of those.

If you are bending swaybar axle mounts, than imagine the pressures and forces being directed into the chassis frame-rails in an area prone to cracking.
Offroad driving will be greatly improved (increased traction and smoother ride) with bar disconnected.
Could try a smaller diameter swaybar also. there are at least two stock sizes for XJ.

I ALWAYS (most the time) disconnect when I go off road. The trouble is, I put the mounts through hell off roading with it connected before I knew any better. I'm fairly confident the mounts have been weakened from the abuse, and are bending from regular street driving.
