Need a high perormance camshaft
1 Attachment(s)
Hello there everyone. I picked up this ported and polished intake manifold for my 97 Cherokee 4x4 automatic. It has a 5.3L Vortec throttle body on it. Vehicle is getting headers, flowmaster, reprogrammed computer, and an aftermarket camshaft. It sports 245/75R16 with stock 3.55 gears. I will only use it at the dunes, IT IS NOT A DAILY DRIVER! I have everything except the cam. Please advise.

If it is an auto trans, it will shift at 4800-4900 rpm and using any cam over stock will just raise the power curve to above your shift point and you will never use it. Keep your stock cam and use Yella Terra 1.7 ratio Roller Rockers.

The TCU controls the shift points and is not programmable. ECU has no control over shift points.
