Default need help installing a 8.25 powertrax no slip MA

anyone want to help me install a powertrax no slip in my 8.25? Ive never done it before and am a little overwhelmed.
I dont have alot of cash but could provide food, beers and/or a small amount of cash.
Ive got the axle sitting on spare tiers in my garage so its not on the jeep.
also gonna be putting on disc brakes but that i can do my self.
I'm in west concord ma.
thanks

I would say just sit down and work at it. If youre uncomfortable with it, take your time, read a couple write-ups, and try to understand how it works. If you can understand how the locker works, it will be easy to install it properly. Only thing to look out for that I can think of is to make sure the paddles face opposite directions when you install it, and to not force the cross pin back in. If youre gentle with the cross pin, that should let you know if the paddles are the wrong direction or if something else is off

I bought the locker off craigslist its still in the box, unused, never installed

its been sitting in a basment and has a small amount of surace rust in some spots. should i be worried about this? will it clean its self off with some use? or should i try and clean it off some how. (sand it or naval jelly?)

Make sure before you get started that your rear isn't a limited slip. If you have a limited slip carrier, you will need to replace the carrier as well which will require setting the back lash on the pinion.
