I was told this was a D30 HP 4:11
I know it's a 4:11. I did the math
However the ring gear looks like a like a standard LP type.
I think it's a D35 myself.
Seller has a complete D30 he'll give me for the same price. He just doesn't know what the parts are. His buddy the expert is in Halifax and can't remember which axle had to be changed to 4:11 All he remembers is one had them and the other had to be changed with the parts he got.
Is there any way to tell from looking at it?

What is the part number on the ring gear?
Have you Googled it?

Now that you mention it no.
Hadn't thought of that.
I had tried with the bearing kit he gave me but all I got back was cross references and no application the bearing are used on.
I'll go out and get the numbers now.

Found it! Ring gear is for a D35 4:11 so the carrier must also be for that.
I thought when I was looking at it the teeth weren't going in the right direction for HP D30.

Anyone need a complete rebuild kit with 4:11 gears for a D35? Cheap!

D-30 has 10 ring gear bolts, D35 has 8 ring gear bolts. Looks like a 35 to me
