Need advice.
I have a 2001, 60th anniversary xj. I want to lift it and run 35's. I'm looking more for a street worthy kit, but off road capable. I'm kind of new to this and need some advice and suggestions.

What type of wheeling are you going to do? Rock, sand, mud, mall? Your found to need a 6.5" lift or so to safely clear 35" tires. How much are you willing to spend? If I were you you Sould put together a list of parts and look though the classified section you can save a lot this way and learn a lot on what your really looking to do. Good luck hope you get just what you want out of this mod

check this kit out.
4.5" is pretty much the go to lift for an all over xj.
and 35" inch tires..? I run 33's and have wanted to go bigger but after many talks with a close friend who runs 35's on his xj, I have decided to stick with 33's. In fact, he will be switching back also. The stock gears have a hard time with the big tires on the highway.

yes after you install a SYE it will bolt right in. i personally wouldn't go beyond 4.5" if you plan on using it as a street driver also. changing gears is a matter of buying them, opening up the diff's and going for it
and the reason for not using the tcase drop is simply a matter of clearance in the engine bay and the fact that it literally pulls the drivetrain down at an angle.. just all around bad news
