Need adjustable track bar recommendation with my new 3inch lift
Hey guys,
Just got my XJ back from the shop...had some 31's and a 3 inch Zone lift put on...looks great will post pics soon, but I noticed the front left tire is sticking out an extra inch/two inches compared to the other 3.
1. I read this could be my stock track bar messing the axle alignment - true?
2. If so, can you recommend a good track bar to purchase? How long is the install?
3. Will this affect the safety of my vehicle as I'm driving it?
Thanks guys

The IRO track bar is pretty popular around here.
Just to be different and give the OP another option, I'm running this one from BDS:

It's for 2" to 4" lifts. I've only had it on since November but so far so good.

Did they adjust your stock track bar after they installed the lift?? Or do an alignment for that matter??
If not, id be taking it back to the shop who installed the lift. The stock track bar is junk but there should be enough adjustment to at least get the axle centered after they installed it.

It would be even harder to deal with someone bringing a vehicle back and claiming they didn't do it right, when they don't know what they're talking about.
But it does happen occasionally.

Did they happen to drill a new track bar bolt hole on the axle bracket? Most smaller lifts that don't include a track bar usually say to drill a new hole 3/4" over to the right of the original hole. This would push the body over the driver tire and most likely even it out. I still recommend an adjustable bar though.

2. When i installed my budget lift, i used an adjustable JKS track bar and couldn't be happier. It also has a grease fitting.
Before the lift, my stock Jeep never tracked straight. The steering wheel was always a few degrees off center on a straight away. And that was always with a million front end alignments both with Chrysler and others.
Only think i can figure, is that my upcountry package has about an inch lift compared to regular cherokees. I suspect but too lazy to look up the part numbers that the same track bar was used for both regular and upcountry Jeeps.
Anyhow after the lift and the adjustable JKS trackbar was installed, i had a trusted Jeep master technician adjust the trackbar and do the 4 wheel alignment.
What a difference! Steering wheel is right on and i can drive no handed for the first time since the 17 years i owned my xj.
3. See 2 above!

I have a 3" lift and I am still running the factory size track bar. The axle is centered and I have no steering issues up to 75-80 mph no death wobble either. I guess some jeeps have this problem and some don't.
