You can see the stock (cast) "arm" of the pitman arm as well as the steel brace I added to make it double sheer. Up to this point, I have been running the drag link between these two points (so again, "under" the pitman arm). For this mockup, I moved the drag link under the brace (2" down from where it has been running). I want to drop it another 2" from where it currently sits (so a total of 4" drop from "under" the pitman arm).

The current pitman arm it's actually a "drop", it's a factory XJ pitman arm with a brace welded on to make it double sheer (takes a 3/4" bolt). Once I locate a drop pitman, I won't have much use for this one anymore. Why, you want it? I'd need to weld some side bracing on it before I'd be willing to sell it (just to make sure I don't sell someone something that failed down the road).

Here's a shot of how the drag link was in the pitman arm:
It works fine (strength wise) and has held up to a lot of wheeling. I intended to go back and brace up the sides but never found the motivation (since I knew long term I was going to go with a drop pitman).

So it's a stock pitman arm that you mounted the drag link under instead of over? The way I was reading it I thought it was a 2" drop pitman arm. I have a stock pitman arm with the drag link mounted under it, but like I said a few posts ago that I'd like to try a different pitman arm or two to either get the angles perfect in the bottom hole of my ota track bar mount, or to move to the top hole.

It's all good. I managed to get the pitman arm somewhat lower, which did improve my angle quite a bit. Long term I was already thinking of getting another WJ knuckle and doing some fab work to do similar to what you posted.
