Motor Mount Alignment Problem
Got the old mounts off, the new mounts mounted to the engine brackets with through-bolt aligned. Appears the motor is shifted back 1/2 inch or so.
I think I can manage the left/right movement, but how do i pull the motor forward?
Ps. I'm doing Tranny mount next, so trying to adjust from back there is a possibility too.

Haven't done mounts on the XJ yet. BUT, I did install poly mounts on my 02 Z28. I used the scissor jack that came with the car to push the engine around. Worked great. Perhaps you can fit a scissor jack in somewhere to push it forward. Thinking either between engine and firewall or underneath the Jeep somewhere.

need the loosing the mounts on the engine block and give it play , then they should pull into place as you bolt them down...that's what I had todo when I put on my brown dog mounts.

Gameplan for today is to get a come-Along (Cable puller) and scoot the engine up a bit.
Loosen the trans mount to see if that helps too.

I went to Garbage Freight and bought a 4,000 Come-Along (Cable Puller), but didn't need it.
I took a simple 250 pond ratcheting strap and that got me 1/4 inch movement forward. Then I loosened the tranny mount and that got me the rest of what I needed.
This allowed me to get the passenger side bolted to the frame, but I left the slotted through-bolt loose.
Then I used a bottle jack and gently nudged the engine towards the passenger side to get the drivers side bolted down. Tightened everything up and we are back in business.
Thanks for the feedback folks.
