For comparison sake, here is a TJ running a 6" skyjacker lift on 35s on the same rock.

Some better flex pics, showing the suspension compressed on alternate sides. This suspension really helps, when you don't have lockers, by keeping all 4 tires in contact with the ground.

...and a static shot, just to show there hasn't been any sagging that I can see after 10 months of use.

This will be the lift I go with if I ever find the XJ I want. I currently have a '15 Rubicon with the MC lift on it and it rides and performs great. Selling my Rubicon is proving to be more difficult than I thought. Looks like I will have to bring back to stock just to recoup some of my money I spent in mods.

Yeah, unfortunately that's been my experience when selling heavily modified cars. The parts add very little to the value, especially with performance parts.

I'm in the Dallas area as well. It's surprisingly hard to find a good XJ in this area. It took me 3-4 months of checking craigslist daily, and I still had to go to the outskirts of Mineral Wells for mine.

Good luck with the hunt!

I'll be installing this same kit next month and would be happy to show it off.

I will being using this kit as the first step with mine eventually adding acos pro, long arms, shackle relocation brackets and longer shackles to get somewhere near 4.5-5.5 with 35s

I've been taking my time. The hardest part is finding something I can deal with. My Rubicon is the nicest vehicle I have ever owned. It can do way more than my skills can handle and it's as nice inside as any luxury vehicle. I will keep looking for that perfect condition, non modified with low miles XJ. If I don't find then I will keep my Rubicon forever.

You most likely won't find it. I've looked for XJ's off and on for years, trying to find the same thing. I had to settle. Mine has 95k (lowest mileage I've seen), is within the year range I want (99), was bone stock, and obviously 4x4. However the exterior paint is horrible. The clear coat is peeling on 3/4 of the vehicle. It'll need to be stripped to bare metal before I coat it with tan monstaliner.

If you wan't a nice XJ you have to build it.

I'm OCD as hell with my cars (which is horrible when it comes to one you plan on beating on). I've accepted the fact that I'm essentially doing a bumper to bumper restoration and build on my jeep to get it how I want it.

Find something with low miles and build it.

Shoot me a PM so we don't keep clog up this thread lol.

Came across Metalcloak a week or so ago looking through some listings on the forums and checked them out. Very impressed by your ongoing posts about the kit. I'm definitely going to greatly consider their kits for my XJ when I get my budget on track for it. Just working out qwerks of a new-to-me car right now.

One thing I did see on their website is that they have 2 different lift kit options but it is hard to tell the difference between the two other than the stated name of the kits. Do you happen to know the difference between the standard and "ARB edition kits"? Is it just added shocks?

Are the provided rear leaf bushing made out of poly or rubber?

Yep that is all the difference is. I think that is a smart decision on your part, I had my XJ 4 years before I started modding it. Sometimes you just gotta get it dependable first.

Sorry, they are Daystar poly bushings with provided grease.

I am one of the lucky winners. unfortunately I dont get to drive Kermit as much as i like. It is an amazing kit, when I do my long arm conversion in the rear i am going to run MC springs still. I wish they made a ZJ kit, but alas not yet

Well it's going on 3 years almost for this kit and all original parts, nothing has broken or needed to be replaced or rebuilt yet. Granted I've been deployed for 9 months and it hasn't gotten driven during that time, but it has still been a great kit. When I get back to the states I will probably pull all of the duratrak bushings out and re grease them to be safe.

Good to know its lasts. How is the ride on the street? I have wanted this kit for a while, but as I save I'm still on the fence. With the 3.5" lift do you feel bumps in the road more than you wish you did? Everywhere I read, long arms are better(softer) on the street.
