Have a Bench Vice? if so take a socket same size as eyelet on one side. then another socket a little bigger then eyelet on the other side put in vice and press it out. Don't go beating your shock up a with hammer. Some times Ive seen them glued in. They are called bushing sleeves.

I didn't say you did. I was just advising him not to. I guess I should of said take care and go easy if trying the hammer way.

In for an answer because I may have made a newb mistake on mine as well. Mine would simply not fit over the lower mount/stud without removing that metal bushing.

Are you dealing with the rear lower shock mount stud? If so I had to take my sleeve out to fit the lower mount.

did you try installing it on the axle first then the body? installing the body side first then trying to fit the lower may cause a slight angle which will make a tight fit tighter.

go see if it will fit over the bolt at all. if it really doesnt, wow that company sucks. cut the mounts off and raise them
