Default Messed up lower Track Bar bracket...

What are my options here. The lower axle side bracket is bent and the bolt hole is oval. So obviously no matter how much I torque it down, it flops and knocks around. It's driving me nuts.

I'm running an RE 4.5" lift with the RE HD Track bar. I just ordered a Prothane poly lower track bar bushing hoping that'd help but I'm really not sure if it will even work on the RE track bar.

I see that the lower brack is part of the axle assembly (welded on) so what can I do to make the track bar stay tight?

Thanks
chris

Weld a thick washer over the hole.

That could work. What size is the stock bolt? It's 5/8 socket so I would guess 1/2"?

The washer thing will work for the outside of the bracket but I dont see how I could weld a washer to the inside of the "box" where the nut is.

????Link? I'm down with that. If you could point me in the right direction.

Do you know what size the bolt is? I'm gonna try a new bolt/nut and welding a plate with that size hole in it first. Mostly cause I have time to do it today. It would save me some time if I new what size the bolt was. That way I wouldnt have to tear it apart and then put it back together to drive to the hardware and then tear it all apart again. lol

you can also look for a track bar relocation bracket that bolts into the factory track bar hole on the axle and allows you to use a stock track bar after you lift it. works really good but i recommend welding the bracket after its all bolted up because the bolts always loosen up plus your hole is all messed up as is.

I've had several customers have bump steer problems with the relocating bracket. I remove it, drill a new hole 3/4" over and put the bar back in. No more problems.

Found the link to how I did mine. You can get a nut in the box.
