So I bought a wrecked XJ for a few hundred as a winter beater project and I have this crazy idea since the doors won't line up and the body will forever be tweaked.

Hack the body and weld in a cage

Is this just a pipe dream crazy idea? Maybe it is totally impossible to do. Like I said this is just a screw around beater so what better car to do something totally stupid to than one that cost me close to nothing. I have a list of plans I HAD but am starting to be unsure of unless I can go all out in another direction...

This is pretty much what I am thinking, I have a 4 door so it would have to be slightly different. I don't know that I am talking about taking it to this extreme (just yet) but the general idea is what I am talking about.

This is making me want to buy an old POS cherokee, and do some cutting and welding to make a sick off road rig to thrash around in.lol
