Hello and thank you for reading my question,

I have a 1999 Cherokee Classic, 4X4, all stock. No lift. Nothing.

I am looking to replace my stock 5-spoke, 15" rims for aftermarket rims (same wheel and tire size, 235/75/15) but I would like the new ones to make the wheel stick out farther out from the wheel well.
I know the more you offset it, the harder it is on the Dana axle, U-joints and bearings. I would love to have them come about 3" out, but I don't know that it can tolerate that much. 1" to 2" is probably gonna be more realistic.
So I would like to know, from y'alls personal experience and knowledge, what amount of max. backspacing/offset can i install that can be easily tolerated by the stock axles without tearing everything up?

Been thinking of doing the same on my '96 w/an Up-Country suspension(1" over std). I'd not be going over the 235 tire size. These in 15x7 w/4"bs:

So how much more would those rims you linked protrude out of the wheel well, compared to stock rims?
Like I said, I am basically just looking to slightly change the offset.. I wanna keep same tire size as the stock rims as well. I am just trying to figure out how much of a change is "safe" for my stock bearings, axles and U-joints. Not looking to replace those regularly just to change look and stance.

I have 15x8 wheels with 4" of backspacing. 33x12.5s mounted on said wheels hang out past flare 3.5".

From what I've read here we'd have no problems with component stress. Has far as how far the tires/rims will protrude over stock I'm hoping just enough to fill the flares to their outer edge. Anything past that is not legal in WV. I'm looking for the same as you and still be legal.

I'm running 4" backspacing rims which would be 1.5" less than the stock backspacing. I used to have 3.75" backspacing rims too. I haven't had too much issue with anything and I wheel mine harder than it should be...
