Default Major Steering Issue

I have a 94 Cherokee sport and it has a 5.5in T&T long arm lift on 35's. I recently swapped the steering set up to a crossover steering and now if I hit a bump in the road or a pot hole or even sometimes an asphalt patch it will throw me into a violent "death wobble" this only happens at lower speeds (15 mph to 35 mph)as of now. When the wobble starts it feels like the front axle is moving opposite of the jeep and the steering wheel moves back and forth in my hands. Usually I can stop it by just slowing down but I don't know if this could get more serious? Any help is appreciated I will post pictures in a few minutes. Thanks for the help. ball joints, track bar???

Start with Kevin's offroad. I don't have the link, but im sure it's not hard to find. Read his write up, do what he says, then get back to everyone here...

Zero trac bar movement is only acceptable amount . Also judgeing by bend in front coils axle needs to rotate pinion down more.

When you put the steering on how did you align it? I like mine toed in just a little otherwise it tends to not like bumps either.

That track bar needs to be moved to the top of the axle too but that doesn't "usually" cause too much wobble, mostly just makes bump steer way worse.

Dammit I was going to mention by looking at the first post that the lower trac bar hole looked to be egged out

x2. Your caster angle appears off but it could just be the picture.

Moving the track bar to the top of the axle will definitely help with bump steer. Your track bar and drag link should be parallel. Since your existing track bar mount is basically useless, now is a good time to move it.

Schwab may have done the alignment based on factory specs and not compensated for your lift. Stock caster is 6.5º but over 4" of lift and you'll get vibes which will be exacerbated by a loose-fitting track bar. I believe 5º is recommended for 5" and 4.5º for 6" (assuming a HP D30... 8º for LP D30).

What existing track bar mount are you talking about?

I'm talking about your existing track bar mount. It looks sort of like this...

What you need is a relocation bracket, like this one from JKS...

No, it's welded directly inline with the existing track bar bracket which will place it ahead of the UCA mount.

Here's a picture of one installed. Not the best picture but at least you can get an idea (note the alignment of the track bar and drag link). He's also dropped the driver's side mount and converted his original track bar mount to accept a steering stabilizer. Sorry about the huge picture, it's all I could find.
