yeah the forum search engine can be a little tricky
lunchbox locker in the front is invisible in 2wd. so if you don't have to use 4wd on the street or in the snow too often, a lunchbox is great for a daily driver

Where I live in Cali we usually get a bit of snow in the winter and during the summer I'm out wheeling, not super hard, but just about every weekend. How about a lunchbox in the rear also?

Just do a little more reading and hopefully you can find your answer. My advice would be to start with a front locker and get some experience wheeling with that. You'll be surprised at how much that alone will help.

Lunch box in the rear kind of sucks at first on the street with a 5spd because it is locked when there is power to it. It also wears down tires faster than no locker, on the plus side tire wear is even from side to side, it's not just the passenger tire that shows wear.

Its not as nearly as bad as a 5 speed. Also having auto lockers in a state the can have some really cold days sucks. I actually had my locker get stuck before from it being so cold out. Had to wait for it to warm up in order to drive that jeep.

I have a Spartan locker in the rear. It isn't a dd but I drive it frequently(much more fun than my corolla) honestly it drives pretty much the same. I was a little skeptical before I did it, but I was very suprised at how well it did. Takes a few days to get used to the sound of the tires when turning from a stop. I'll put it this way, my brother drove it and he didn't even know anything was different.

Just did lunchbox lockers in my buddys jeep for him, rides great on the road, off road is amazing. Just if its icy drive cautious cause the rear loves to kick sideways on icy roads.

I had a lockright in my 8.25, daily drove it for about a year like that. And its a 5 speed. Took some getting used to. It would make crazy sounds in parking lots, people would often tell me that my jeep was broke or something. Had to watch giving it gas in the snow or rain, you would be looking the other direction very quick if you werent paying attention. After i got used to it, and learned to drive accordingly, i never even noticed it was there. And the difference it made offroad was night and day. I would strongly recommend one, and if you decide to only go with a front lunchbox, you wont even know its there unless your in 4 wheel
