Default Lug nut help needed! Thin tin cover came off and.........

I can't break the lug nut loose with an 18mm socket and impact wrench. The thin tin lug nut cover came off. I'm in the middle of installing a 2" BB lift and can't get the passenger front tire off. I got the driver side done WITH the wheel and tire removed and I'm not sure I can do the other side without the extra room to move with the tire removed. Any help will be greatly appreciated. This is my daily driver and now it's up on jack stands until I get the rest of the lift spacers installed on the passenger side and both rears. Please help.

Does the 18mm socket spin on the nut? Or is the nut too tight?

The nut it too tight. I tried removing it with my impact to no avail and then about tore a bicept doing it by hand. I need to get this done tonight if possible to get back on the road.

With socket on, hit it with a big hammer! Hard! Then try it.

Use a breaker bar with a pipe to get more leverage. Use a block of wood or something to hold up an extension near the wrench to keep it straight (90 degrees.). Stand on it!

Hit the socket square on the end? I'll try iy today when I get home. What a pain in the butt. I worked on getting the dang tire off for an hour instead of putting on my lift. So frustrating.

Thanks.

Use the biggest bar you can find. You'll get way more leverage than an impact.

Be sure to put the weight of the Jeep back on the ground so you don't have to deal with the tire spinning while you break the nut loose if you haven't already.

Leverage is key... Worst case scenario, you break the wheel stud.

at this point I'd be ok with breaking the wheel stud. I just need to get the wheel off so I can get my lift in and my daily driver back on the road. I'll have to give it my best when I get home from work today.

I've drilled the lug nut as close to the stud as possible then hit the nut with a hammer and chisel. the lug nut has always split and come off.

It's hard to do once you have so much leverage, but keep in mind breaking a wheel stud means longer down time, that being said, try to keep the socket centered on the lug nut. There comes a point when as your standing on the breaker bar the force isn't applied to the lug spinning around but applied to the stud bending down this breaking. And one last note. ANTI-SEIZE after you get it off

I'm leaving work a bit early since we're caught up. I'm hoping to not be dealing with it for any longer than an hour or I'll be freaking out. I'm going to spray some PB Blaster on it and use a big pipe to get some leverage. I'm so d@mn nervous at this point that I either won't get it off or I'll break something. I'm a confident guy in my skills but hwne it's your daily driver it's a whole other ball game.

That's why I said to block up an extension near the wrench to keep is straight!

I've done worse.

Believe me or not, I once snapped a lug nut in half. As in, the tapered part of the lug nut was still threaded on, but the part of the lug nut where the wrench goes on came off. It was on my buddy's jeep. He took it to his girl friend's dad's shop and I think they spent like 4 hours getting it off.
