I wanna put the chevy ls1 into my jeep its a 5.7 v8 I have it already and I have the 4l60e transmission off a 2001 silverado z71 has anyone done this swap or anything similar how do I start?

It's a fairly easy swap with the right parts and there are tons of write ups, just not on here. But look at that truck again since that motor wasn't available in 2001. It came with a 5.3 and 3/4 tons could be had with a 6.0 but no 5.7. That was the older LT motors. The only LS motors that came in a 5.7 came in Camaros and Vets and have aluminum blocks. The truck motors, LQs are cast blocks and with some tweaking can make just as much if not more power. Plan on an axle swap cause not XJ axle will hold up to that kind of power and torque.

What t case to use depends on how much power you wanna make and tire size.If you want something super strong look at a np205 or dana 300.
