I have a 96 xj sport, the exhaust rattles bad so I might as well replace it. What's a good one to go with for best performance and I might as well do an intake as well. Can you guy point me in the right direction? Thanks

Banks , borla , magnaflow , iron rock offroad , performance curve has a flow master catback for like 150. I've always run flow master and magnaflow on my other jeeps.

Where are you guys getting them? Any links with the best prices? What kind of power gains do you see, also any idea what the stock power is in these?

I have a borla stainless 2.5" system. I like it, it is really nice. i did have an issue with it not fitting with my lift though. For soem reason they put a jog in the very end of the tail pipe that hits my shackles. On a stock XJ it should be fine, but you might look into that interfering with your lift. I just cut the jog and welded a straight piece so it goes along the gas tank like normal.

Well as far as exhaust goes, yes it will give you better flow because it help relieve back pressure. Your gonna get alot of mixed opinions here man. Personally i believe in quality exaust parts. Banks and borla are great in my opinion. They provide nice flow without being obnoxiously loud. Also they wont drone. Now if u want cheap, loud, and great flow, maybe glasspack will work for ya. My setup is banks header, 2.5 piping, going into a banks straight through muffler. Very controlled tone. But roars when u want it to. Have fun with it

Get rid of the crush in the down pipe, use 2.5" for the rest. Muffles choice is personal preference as its just sound, really.

And an intake really doesn't do much. Bore the throttle body a bit and you'll see a better gain than intake.

you can get underneath and look. it's literally a dented pipe near the beginning of the exhaust. if you want something nice start with a new header. I've got plans for 2.5" mandrel bent stainless pipe with a high flow cat. and no muffler

Header looks like a pretty big project. I'd like to just bolt something on from the header back that gains me the most performance.

Can anyone give me a couple links to set up you all use? Thanks

Gears are a performance option. You'll gain more performance with gears then with all the bolt ons combined.
