Those mods may get you an extra 2-3 HP, anything beyond that will require a turbo or stroker build.
Fixed.

That's not saying much, I wouldn't call any of those Fiat minivans reliable. The Wrangler is the only real Jeep left and even it is questionable. They are fun to drive though and if you have the money to buy one new and get rid of it before the warranty expires, or better yet lease one for a few years then that's great.

Ha, yeah.

Injectors aren't going to much of make a difference. "12 hole" injectors are just going to give you more problems than anything.

But for a 4.0L, to really see any appreciable gains without stroking or forced induction you'd be talking full port and polish, possibly live tuning, etc. etc.

Even then, the gains would be minuscule compared to the work put in.

If this were something like an LS, absolutely. Those motors aren't hard to eek more power out of without a whole lot of work. Just tuning alone can make a whopping difference.

I'm running some 12 holes. I did it mostly to see what all the fuss is. I haven't experienced issues yet. It runs like a stock 4.0L so I guess I'm happy?

The supercharger set up I did was a huge amount of work for miniscule gains. The turbocharger set up I currently have seems to make big gains but I dont have dyno numbers for an objective value. With the right aftermarket parts available the task of turbocharging the 4.0 becomes fairly easy.

I went on quadratec and followed the parts list as closely as I could. I went with well known names like banks and afe. If I have this right it totals out to $2495 for 20hp.

I would never give my money to Banks, they are way overpriced and overated.

well, to each their own. either you had a few bad experiences, or I've been incredibly lucky, I've owned grand Cherokees since my '98 niner, never had more than typical issues, and all of them past the warranty.
As for the wrangler being the only "real jeep left," the wrangler has never been a true jeep-- ever *Really* look at a late 80s/early 90s wrangler? it has more GM parts than most chevys. If you're talking about the WWII vintage jeeps, more of those were built by other manufacturers than by *******.

also, I wouldn't exactly refer to the current wk2's as "fiat minivans". WK was originally designed when jeep was owned by Mercedes, and it really hasn't changed since then ('05 IIRC), so technically it's a Mercedes minivan, if anything. The net gen wranglers/Cherokees/GC's will be fiat minivans though :-)

Anyway, track hawk is great, it's not a typical jeep, but that's even more reason to love it. and it makes a great tow vehicle for my '88 Cherokee.

Real Jeep = straight axles and part time transfer case with low range.

sure, why not. but that definition also brings in a ton of other vehicles... a toyota landcruiser, for instance :-)

Still, to the original point, I certainly wouldn't characterize a trackhawk as a minivan. But that's just me (I think I saw a 800HP minivan on top gear once... maybe that's what you were comparing it to?)
