Default lookin to buy some skids/protection

iv been looking to buy some skid plates, got a 98xj and don't do much crawling but am planning to head up to play on some rocks more often. now iv seen expensive guards that are 250+ and iv seen fairly inexpensive ones like tomken brand skids.

like i said, i don't hit up rocks very often so these skids won't be too abused. how are these tomken skids? and what skids do you guys think are a must?

Don't get front steering skid. U ll end up getting stuck or hanged up on the rocks more often.

Gas tank skid is absolute must.
Tc skids are second absolute must

Don't think it is. Because of strapping and mounts but I could be wrong. I think I have read that some where.

But even so, it's still better off having a skid than switching to metal tank.

Personally I would prefer plastic tanks, they doesn't rust.

I would just get skids from junkyard and spend the money on sliders. Just my two cents. But I'm sure rusty's skids are good tho.

My JCR Gastank skid has proven to be bombproof. Iirc it was cheaper then rustys after shipping.

My buddy bent his rustys crossmember and tcase skid with mild wheeling. IMO if you want to protect the belly get the TNT trans skid
