longer shocks

Would it be a good idea to get 6" lift shocks for a 3 inch lift? I am going to add bumpstops to limit uptravel.... I dont want my shocks to limit the down... I am going to get 6" extended brake lines as well... Thanks for the input...

Why don't you measure the length when the axle is tucked in and droop, then u ll know exact lengths u need.

Yeah, thats a good idea. I guess I am going to piece the lift together and wait on shocks to measure exactly what I need...

OP, this is a very very very bad idea. I tried it. I had literally no uptravel. Get off camber easy this way. I wanted more down travel but remember, shocks aren't your only limiting factor. CA, steering components can be. Plus too long of a shock wont even fit. You'll be bottoming out left and right.

Wonder boy above me has the best option.

Yup measure twice order once and check on how to do it properly.

I will do more research on here for how to measure once i lift... I just didnt see any reason to get cheap 3" shocks in a kit that wouldnt really be what I need anyways...

Unless you have all the other components to support shocks that big then they will do more harm than good.

That would probably require shock towers, and you wouldn't be able to really use them without long arms, high steer, and extended everything.
