lockright locker has play?
i have a dana 30 i bought awhile ago with a lockright locker in it, when i got it i can spin the yoke about a quarter turn before anything engages the wheels. what i mean is the carrier pin has alot of play before it engages and hits the locker and starts putting power to the wheels. its like the pin is too small or the locker is too big. is this for comfort or something so it unlocks easily? Is this correct? If its hard to understand i'll try and take a video and post it, Thanks

I had the same issue... gave up trying and wheel open open...
4wheel parts has a kit that increases the springs pressure but it didn't help. I think the locker needs to be shimmed on the outer ends so there is less play.
I never found any metal shavings in the diff so the locker stayed sound, it is something to do with the pressure being put on it to keep it together or the machining of the teeth that is not right.
I had only a few good trail runs with the locker before it started to have no locking effect and in fact would not put power to either axle.
I'm learning how to wheel without until I can afford a better locker.

OOps I see what you are talking about... the video Gorillaxj posted threw me off.
Your locker is locking both axles together so you should be good... Wish mine worked like that.... ugh!!

That's normal. If the hole for the center pin in the carrier was the same size as the pin the locker would never disengage.
The carrier turns first, with the pin, then the pin contacts the sides of the.locker to.drive them out and lock. When you let off, the locker can "relax" and unlock, because the side gear can move in towaed the pin and release.
