So I want to lock my C8.25; I was thinking going with a OX locker. But my question is, is it worth locking the C8.25?? Or should I go to a d44 or 8.8? If someone has C8.25 locked what do u think about it? And what kind of locker do u have? Thanks!
A built 8.25 with 29 spline shafts is as strong as a 44. Only downside is c clips. Disc brakes are far easier than on a 44. If you only plan to go to 35s I would stick with the 8.25 personally.
I run a Chy 8.25 29 spline with a Detroit Locker and run 33's/35's both on 2 sets of wheels never had an issue so far. If I ever decided to upgrade it would not be a D44 it would be a D60 at the least.
A 2000 Cherokee Sport, 29 spline 8.25 with the limited slip carrier. I run the Powertrax Lockright locker, http://www.powertrax.com/pdf/PowertraxCatalog.pdf.
I ran 31s for about two years and then 33s for almost two years and have recently moved up to 35s; no problems. The Chrysler 8.25 has a good reputation up through 35s.
