The ECTED is not exactly a locker, it is a LSD that uses an electromagnet to push the disk and clutches together to sort of lock the differential.
The only complaint I've heard from anyone running the ECTED is that like any LSD the clutches wear and it doesn't work as well after awhile. Sometimes that is years and years and sometimes not so long, but I don't run the ECTED so this is what I've heard from people that run them.
I was thinking of running an ECTED in the front of my Cherokee, but decided to run the Eaton E-Locker instead because I didn't want to chance the clutch disc wearing down and needing to be replaced.

Save your money.

I've watched them slip (easily) when locked right out of the box and I won't even install 'em.

Most places that sell both the ECTED and the 30 spline Eaton E-Locker only have a price difference of about $100 or a little more, and that is the difference in price between a 27 spline ECTED and the 30 spline E-Locker.
