I think what some of you guys are missing is this.

Number one if he would have been open in the front the tire in the air would have spun and he would have been dead in the water or flipped because the front end would have unloaded without the traction of one tire. Two rear tires firmly planted on rock, locked or not will power a vehicle. As in both rear wheels will be under power. This is how an open diff works.

I would wager a paycheck if he was open in the rear he could have made it being locked in the front. However there is no way in He$$ he could have made it being open in the front and locked in the rear..

On a side note nice climb!

The guy with just the rear locked tried but not this line. I sure he'll make it, and definitely have him try the same line when we go again

So I finally got the axle with matching gear ratio so should be a direct swap my only concern is that I can not find a definitive answer as to if I need a drive line for the Chrysler swap. I have read that the D35 drive line is shorter by about an inch. I have a 3in lift on mine and would think that the Chrysler drive line is a must. Also I have the add a leafs in the rear and was thinking about adding leaf springs due to the fact that I put an HD bumper in the back. What do you guys think?

Also from what I have read on this post I should consider just putting a locker in the front. Was thinking going with a powertrax locker anyone have experience with one? Likes or dislikes?
