unless you are doing real trail work it would be a waste of money to install lockers just for hunting.
You don't know where he hunts though.

Mine have never hopped and skipped except for when I was high centered or hung up in an undercut of a rock out back.

Obviously we all plan differently.. Front vs Rear lockers is a never ending discussion haha and I swear it comes up in every locker thread.

I am personally going to go with an OX locker in my d30. Only because I've already detroit locked the rear 8.25 and I drive in the snow occasionally and through tight trails.

Whichever you choose get rid of that d35.

Well most guys I know who hunt, including myself, are not going to risk getting in a bad situation before the hunt. They simply go very lightly off road and are focused on the hunt, not off roading.

Now if the OP said he was going to go hard wheeling. Then this would be different.

The OP stated hunting, and a daily driver. No way would I tell someone to install a locker for this. This is my opinion.

lock the front first it will allow you to drive like normal but when you need the little extra grip it will be there on demand.
then get rid of the d35

Im not saying I go out there and look for hard wheeling, bit alot of roads are behind quiet a bit of obstacles, caused by severe storms. A lot are currently inacessable with out a built truck

How does that old saying go?

If you have to ask, you probably don't need it. LOL

Something like that.

Thought it was "If you have to ask you probably can't afford it."

Okay, I have to get on this, I have wheeled with just the rear locked, just the front, and both. I will tell you from my experience, my xj walked over stuff with the front locked, that my buddy with a rear locker didn't even have a chance on. The way to go is front and rear lockers. But I would definitely lock the front first.

I've always had the mindset that a rear locker was better than the front. But after reading this & thinking it thru, it makes sense to go with the front first. Crawl up & over instead of just pushing the rear around.

I had a lunchbox locker in my 8.25 & hated it on the road. But loved the traction off road. If I had put one in the front it would have been invisible, until I put it in 4WD.

I thought a lunchbox is only invisible in the front if you have locking hubs? Otherwise it is still spinning and you do feel it occassionaly....??

I'm guessing with it up front it is invisible because your tires are just coasting, in sharp turns I'm sure they turn different speeds but not enough to engage since they aren't under load.

Edit.
I'm going to go with a rear when I get one, not for pushing over rocks, but when I'm trying to get out into traffic and one tire is on snow.
