Default Loose Track Bar at Axle End

I had minor DW after my lift, but noticed a clunking in the front end when I'd turn the wheel lock to lock.

Found out the axle end bolt for the track bar (I have a JKS adjustable track bar) was a teeny bit loose, causing some play. Tightened it up, clunking is gone.

Now I feel like the hole might have wallowed out a bit. I can't tighten the bolt by hand anymore, but my DW problem is getting worse.

For the first time since my lift, I got MAJOR death wobble after hitting a bump on the highway - and it wouldn't stop until I came to a complete stop on the side of the road.

So, if the hole is wallowed out, what can I do to fix that? I can't run a bigger bolt because it won't fit through the track bar bushing... so what else can I do?

buy a new track bar bracket and weld it on to the axle (after cutting out the old one of course.

You gotta make sure the washer is right on size on inner diameter.

I've gotten DW as well, should I look at the trac bar first? I've read a bunch of stuff, I haven't gotten it aligned yet, its going in tomorrow. While its in should I have my tierod ends replaced?

When they align it, they should be able to tell you if you got slop anywhere. Don't bet on it though...A good test is to listen for clunks when you turn the wheel while parked, or look at all the linkages whilst a buddy cranks your steering wheel back and forth and look for obvious signs of excessive play between the various joints. If youre good with a pinch bar you could do some lift checks as well...

I'm definitely going to have them replace the TRE of the pitman arm, that has some play. Ill check the other ones over as well. I wish I had time to do it myself. Thanks for the help man. Hopefully Ill be able to take the freeway to work thursday. haha

you can drill a new hole for mounting the trac bar. problem solved if its indeed the hole being wallowed out.
